One of my weak points as a homeschool mom, so far, is my lack of creativity with fun learning projects. There is no shortage of ideas from around the internet. I'm just a tired pregnant girl and strive to get through what needs to be done, and if there is extra energy, then we do more! It's a constant struggle of mine for sure... always wondering "Am I doing enough?!!"
Two weeks ago we learned about clouds during science. We don't have "structured" science every day, or even every week. But this particular week we read books on clouds (both fiction and non-fiction), discussed the types of clouds, and even had a little art project. It is called crayon resist art. You design any picture with crayon (in this case it was clouds), then when you watercolor paint over it, the paint beads off the wax. The boys enjoyed it, which is a miracle because they are not arts-n-crafts kind of boys!

Today our math lesson was on liquid volume. I provided 5 different sized containers labeled A - E, and Ben had to guess how many measuring cup-fulls would fill each container. Then we counted the actual number of cup-fulls, rearranged them to go in volume order, and made a chart. It was a fun change of pace from the addition and subraction lately!

| Any kind of activity with water is right up Joey's alley! |

| We also used linking cubes to show the number of cups that went into each container. |
