I rarely have a hard time letting go of things that are of no use any more in our house. I'm the first to pass things on to friends, donate Goodwill, Freecycle, or trash it if it's broken.
Hannah has outgrown her infat carseat and it has hit its expiration date, so it's time to send it on to the great baby supply store in the sky. Once a seat hits its expiration date, it's against the law to resell (meaning it can't be donated either). And in the case of an accident/injury, manufactureres aren't liable if the seat is past expiration. It is essentially useless someone out there wants an expired car seat.

I guess since all three of my three borrowed blessings came home from the hospital in this seat and then were toted around for so many months, it really means a lot to me. In some wacky way, I think that this little car seat eulogy will bring closure for me.
Here are pictures of all three newborns at the hospital, ready to come home...

So good bye, little car seat. Thank you for keeping our babies safe. You've served our family well. Happy retirement.
