Saturday morning was spent in the company of some folks we love so much but don't get to see nearly enough!! Our good friends Elizabeth and Nathan, and their boys Tyler and Reid, moved from St. Charles to Effingham, IL a handful of years go much to the dismay of yours truly. Between school and work and other obligations, it's just plain old hard to see each other but I am awfully thankful for the wonder of the telephone and Facebook.
We mommas planned to meet halfway at a restaurant we frequent with Andrew's grandparents in Pocahontas, IL (The Powhatan, I-70, exit 36!). Best truck stop food ever. It's an hour drive for both of us. The grown-ups and Hannah sat at one table and the boys sat by themselves at the table next to ours. One thing we love about our 4 boys is that they could totally pass for brothers! In fact, friends of Andrew's grandparents who recognized us when we all walked in asked if all four were ours! :-) The boys haven't seen each other since last summer I think, but they didn't skip a beat and jumped right in to talking about Sonic the Hedgehog and other things important to boys ages 5 through 8.
After a huge breakfast, we rolled ourselves out of the restaurant and down the road to a local playground where we enjoyed the sunshine and each other's company!!
