Hannah Turns Two

Our February baby just celebrated her second birthday.  We had a few different celebrations starting on Valentine's Day with the Grandparents Scott.

Then on the day before her birthday (this past Saturday), we had a fun Skype birthday party with the Grandparents Pac, Aunts Kristy and Ashley, and cousins Kaylie, Nate, and Maddie.  She opened their gifts that they sent as well as the gifts from us.  I took pictures.  But oddly, the pictures don't exist on my camera.  Insert big giant sad face here... makes me mad!!

We saved cake with Mommy, Daddy, and brothers for her actual birthday, the 23rd.  I kept it simple with a box cake mix this year:  pink velvet flavored with some pink frosting.  Hello Kitty candies finished cake off and she was thrilled with it.  However, she is NOT thrilled with the idea of a big cake sitting in front of her (like the previous weekend) and said "NO!" and pushed it away.  She likes eating it though!!

As for the little lady, she is a firecracker.  In the last week or so she has been putting 2 words together to make mini-sentences.  And she's saying new words just about every day.  She climbed out of her crib twice in the last week!  She's going to move to the twin bed already in her room that Ben and Joe both used; I'm getting that laundry done today and just have to pull out the safety rail and give that a wipe-down too.  She doesn't eat a huge variety of food these days but she loves cheese, Cheerios, fresh fruit and veggies, and noodles.  Only if we're lucky she will eat other things.  She's one opinionated girl and if she doesn't like what's in front of her she just won't eat.  Sigh.  She loves copying the big people around her and the most favorite way to do that is following mom into the bathroom to primp.  She stands up on the toilet next to me.  If I use a cotton ball and astringent, she needs a cotton ball (with water) to wash her face too.  She uses my fluffy powder brush and an empty bronzer dish to put her make up on.  And she has a toothbrush in there to brush her teeth while I do mine.

At her two year check-up yesterday she measured in the 50th percentile for both height and weight.  She's had a small heart murmur and this time the doctor thought it would be best to have it checked out more thoroughly, so we have to take her for an echo-cardiogram in the next week or two.  Not too concerned at this point.

It's hard to believe it wasn't that long ago she wasn't a part of our family.  Couldn't imagine life without her though.  Love you sweet (and crazy!) Hannah Mary!
