Can I tell you how much we LOVE our church family? Bogey Hills is a small congregation averaging less than 100 people each Sunday, but that's what makes it awesome. It's a place where "everybody knows your name" and that is a wonderful, wonderful feeling to have in culture becoming increasingly isolated. We've walked with one another through deep valleys, and rejoiced with one another when the mountaintop experiences have come. Seeing the church grow and evolve over the years has been a priceless experience for us both and we've learned so so so much from our pastor Coby and his wife Leslie, who have become incredibly dear friends to us. I also love the mix of ages represented - folks who were charter members back in the day and have walked with Jesus twice as long as I've been alive, all the way down to a bustling pre-school department. It's a beautiful sampling of the body of Christ.
Andrew lived here in St. Charles for a year before we were married, and one of the aids in the office at his school invited him to Bogey Hills when he was new to the area and needing to find a church home. After that first visit he never looked back. And Andrew likes to joke that he stuck around because on his first Sunday visiting, Coby and Leslie fed him Dominos Pizza for lunch. :-)
He was also honored with about 12 crock pots full of soup and chili (his absolute favorite theme for a church potluck) and a fabulous spread of desserts.
So to our church family - thank you for loving our whole family so much and watching and supporting us as we have grown from one to two, then adding three precious blessings into the mix. We are honored to serve along side you and love you!
And for the rest of you... if you need a church home, this is where you want to be.
