This impromptu science lesson happened today, before 7 am, as the boys ate their cereal. (Yes, they eat breakfast that early. Especially when they're not fond of dinner the night before. Funny how that works.)
Out of the large dining room picture window, we saw a flock of birds flying. Joey asked if they were a family (aww).
We watched them go in circles for awhile (I think I was still in a sleepy daze).
I told the boys when winter comes, many birds get in big groups to fly south to live where the weather is warm. Then they come back in the springtime (I wish I was a bird).
Ben replied, "I sure will miss those birds."
(He's so tenderhearted. He made my day. By 7 am.)
