We are in the midst of Vacation Bible School week at our church and are having a great time! Ben is in the pre-k class, Joey stays in the workers' nursery, and Andrew and I lead the music rotation each night, which means 4 classes of kids come to us for a half hour at a time to learn the songs and the dances to go along with them (tires us out!). The theme is Saddle Ridge Ranch, so we've been dressing up like cowpeople (isn't that how you combine and pluralize a cowboy and cowgirl?!). Ben never wants to leave the house to go to the church, but when it's time to go home at 9:00, he tells us he doesn't want to go home! Joe's sleep schedule is thrown off since he normally goes to bed much earlier, but we're making sure he gets extra naps in during the day to compensate. Here are a few pictures.
This is the backdrop I helped to repaint. It was Mt. Fuji in Japan from a previous VBS theme, so we reconfigured it to look more like an American mountain valley.
Ben and his Pre-K class run around during the recreation rotation
Andrew makes a good lookin' cowboy! Here he is teaching a movement to one of the songs.
I took a break to roast marshmallows over the campfire
Wavin' our lassos in the air as we sing the theme song

The girls had a great time at VBS!
