Valentine's Day was a more-special-than-normal day in our house! Ben had school that morning and had a class party. The kids all had to bring shoeboxes that they decorated and used as Valentine mailboxes. This year Ben used Batman valentine cards that his thrifty Grandma Marge got for him several YEARS ago for 25 cents!! They've been in the closet waiting for this very occasion. Ben wrote out his name and his friends' names on each one! Here are Ben and Joey modeling the heart wreath Ben made that day at school.
When Andrew got home from school, I presented a family Valentine's gift. The boys got bags of Valentine M&Ms and a hint that we would be taking them to the bowling alley! I bought Andrew and myself new big mugs because the ones that came with our new dishes are on the small side.

After that, two girls we love from church (they're sisters) came over and babysat the boys so Andrew and I could go on our traditional Valentine's Day date - Dave and Busters! We had great coupons that cut the price of the evening by 50%! And we love the fact that we can have fun interacting and playing games together! Andrew and his mad internal metronome skills helped him hit a 326 ticket jackpot on a slot machine-type game. No worries, Vegas is not in our future. :-) We finished our night by spending our tickets on fun things for Ben and Joey!
